Skin Health with Dr Paul Baines
NHS Consultant, Musgrove Park Hospital, MB BCh MRCS, FRCEM, LL.M
Welcome and thank you for visiting, I hope you will find something of interest to you and answers to some of the questions you may have.
I’ve tried to keep the site as easy to navigate as possible, concentrating on the key principles of my practice and new developments in aesthetics. I don’t expect to cover everything here, so I would encourage you to get in touch – either by message or in person for an in-clinic consultation. Once we have provided you with all the information you need, all clients are given time to reflect on any treatment decisions without any obligation to proceed.
In the 30+ years I have been medically qualified, I have been fortunate to gain experience in a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. This enables me to provide a holistic approach to your skin-care problems. Over the last 10 years in aesthetic practice, my experience has led me to become a teacher for Galderma, manufacturer to the industry-leading brand Restylane. My ethos has always been to prioritise safety and to maintain a very natural look. I believe that ‘less is more’ and that your friends shouldn’t be able to tell exactly what it is that you’ve had done. Your result will be a healthier, more refreshed version of you.
Sue Baines
Registered Nurse Prescriber
“Hello, my name is Sue Baines. I have been a practising Registered Nurse since 1991.
My Nursing career started in the Regional Plastic Surgery Unit in Chepstow and this is where my general interest in skin health began. Over the last 21 years, I have been working as a Community Specialist Nurse in Palliative Care and more recently within the last 12 years, I have been supporting Paul.
Over the five years, I have become more actively involved in the Clinic as a Practitioner and am in the process of completing the industry gold standard qualification of Level 7 Certification.
My areas of particular interest are teenage and adult acne, hyperpigmentation and Rosacea. In addition to injectable therapies, I perform skin surface treatments including Hydrafacial, Radiofrequency Microneedling and resurfacing therapies using Tixel.

Skin Radiance
& Hydration
Restylane
Increase Radiance & Hydration of Your Skin with Restylane Skinboosters
Clinically proven outcomes support significant and lasting improvements to the condition of the skin.
Restylane Skinboosters progressively improve the skin’s structure and elasticity through deep skin hydration. The result: visibly improved skin condition that looks healthy and naturally radiant
PhilArt
Injectable polynucleotides stimulate fibroblastic activity increasing collagen production resulting in:
Promotion of hydration
Helping to restore a smoother, firmer texture of the skin
Scar improvement
This can be used in any area to improve skin quality without volumization.
– Particularly useful in the eye and perioral areas.
– Also for hair stimulation and targeting areas of trauma and scarring.
Sunekos
Sunekos works differently to hyaluronic-acid based dermal fillers. Containing a mixture of amino acids, it targets the skin’s extracellular matrix to stimulate new elastin and collagen production.
The result is a very natural strengthening and tightening of the skin without volumization, ideal for very natural results in areas that may be sensitive to water retention associated with other treatments. It can be used anywhere, even on the whole face to give a revitalized glow. It is also excellent for under-eye support where volume isn’t desired. There is usually a minimal downtime of 1 day.
Platelet Rich Plasma
Plate Rich Plasma (PRP) also known as ACP Autologous Conditional Plasma is a procedure of injecting a concentration of a patient’s own blood plasm.
Platelets release over 30 bioactive proteins and growth factors that enhance tissue regeneration and healing. PRP has been well-established and clinically validated for skin rejuvenation, alopecia, fine lines and wrinkles, and the reduction of scarring.
