Who can do a HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial is a medical-grade skin treatment that should only be carried out by a fully trained and qualified Skin Clinician. A HydraFacial can be tailored to safely and effectively target your specific skin concerns, improving the way you and your skin looks and feels.
What should I expect from a clinician before I have a HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial is customised to focus on your skin concerns, making it unique to you and your skin as well as giving you radiant and healthy-looking skin. A qualified clinician will analyse your skin type and listen to and assess your skin concerns before devising a personalised HydraFacial treatment that is tailored specifically for you.
The treatment is entirely painless and most people find it a very relaxing and calming experience.
How does a HydraFacial work?
The HydraFacial system is a four-in-one treatment which deeply cleanses, exfoliates the skin’s surface, softens, extracts and hydrates the skin. Deposits lodged deep within the pores are removed using a Vortex Extraction Nozzle which allows the removal of blackheads, dirt, and oils clogging the pores. A special hydrating infusion of peptides, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants then hydrate the skin promoting elasticity, reducing the appearance of uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, oiliness, fine lines and wrinkles. Your skin is left soft, nourished and plumped with moisture, combating the appearance of fine lines.
How does the HydraFacial Extraction System work?
The HydraFacial’s tiny, brush-like applicator comfortably sweeps over the face and neck skin and simultaneously circulates liquid rapidly on the skin which creates a highly effective vacuum, sucking up any dead skin cells, impurities, dirt and sebum within the pores.
What is involved in a HydraFacial?
Step 1: Cleansing/Exfoliation
The Clinician will remove all makeup. Next, the vacuum-based abrasion deplaning tool is used to remove the dead skin cells and reveal healthy new ones. This also helps to open up the pores of the skin. A serum is delivered to the new skin containing ingredients such as lactic acid, glucosamine, antioxidants and botanical extracts to revitalise and rejuvenate your skin, based on your individual needs.
Step 2: Peel
A mixture of Glycolic and Salicylic Acid is applied which softens and loosens the impurities in the pores ready for extraction. The nutrient-rich solution penetrates deep into the pores and hydrates and purifies the skin, leaving the skin feeling soft and clean.
Step 3: Extraction
The Vortex Extraction nozzle circulates liquid rapidly on the skin which creates a highly effective vacuum. This sucks up impurities such as sebum, blackheads, whiteheads and clogged pores. Salicylic acid helps to draw out the impurities and honey extract helps to calm and soothe the extraction sites.
Step 4: Hydration/Vortex Fusion
Once your pores are clear and the dead skin cells are removed, the skin is treated with a special hydrating infusion of peptides, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. This promotes elasticity and reduces the appearance of uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, oiliness, fine lines and wrinkles. Your skin is left soft, nourished and plumped with moisture, combating the appearance of fine lines.
What Results can you expect from a HydraFacial?
The results that are seen from a HydraFacial are huge and dependent on the condition of your skin the facial procedure will be adapted by your clinician to focus on any issues or concerns you have. Overall your skin will feel revitalised, fresh and you will have an even-looking skin tone which has plumped to give you a younger look and feel.
How long do HydraFacial results last?
You can expect the immediate effects of your HydraFacial treatment to last up to one week and if you have a course of treatments this will last longer every time. Your clinician will be able to advise on the treatment schedule you should undertake to achieve the results you are looking for.
How often should I get a HydraFacial?
This is dependent on your skin type and the concerns that you have. A professional and qualified clinician will assess your skin, talk to you about your concerns and then advise you on the best treatment plan.
The best way to get initial results with HydraFacial’s is to book a course of treatments and good and professional clinicians will offer this.
For the first couple of months, you may wish to have a HydraFacial weekly to bring your skin up to its optimum condition. When you have achieved this, it is usually recommended that you have a maintenance HydraFacial once a month. Good clinicians offer payment plans for patients wishing to purchase treatment packages.
What should I be aware of before and after a HydraFacial Treatment?
It is recommended that you don’t exercise, use a sauna, hot tub or swim on the day of your HydraFacial. It is also recommended that you don’t expose your skin to the sun or exfoliate for at least 3-days post-treatment.
You can apply make-up immediately afterwards, however, for the best results you should try and let your skin breathe for the rest of the day.
A good and professional clinician will give you a home care programme which will work with the HydraFacial to optimise your skins health and the way it looks and feels.
What are the side effects of a HydraFacial?
There are no side effects to a HydraFacial and your skin will look fresh and glowing after your treatment.
Some people do experience slight tightness and redness in their skin for about an hour or so following their treatment, however, most people like the feel of this and comment that their skin is glowing.
Dr Baines – Skin Health also offers the following options as part of his HydraFacial Procedures:
Mechanical lymphatic drainage at the start of your facial, to help improve lymphatic circulation, increases blood flow, reduces puffiness and eliminates toxins. Supported by fresh lymph, the skin is hydrated and tone and firmness appear improved.
LED treatment post-treatment using either red or blue light – red light stimulates turnover of new cell production, reduces redness and soothes the skin while blue light assists in killing bacteria (which can be helpful for acne sufferers).
Derma builder - a peptide complex to help smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles whilst increasing skin firmness and enhancing skin elasticity.
Britenol Intensive Spot Corrector – to minimise the appearance of brown spots.
“Perk” treatments which target the eye and/or lip areas.
A ZO Brightalive Serum Booster – to reduce the appearance of brown spots, help prevent new pigmentation formation and to even skin tone.
A ZO Rozatrol Serum Booster to help minimize the appearance of existing skin redness and dryness, prevent excess sebum build-up and help reduce the appearance of blood vessels on the skin (telangiectasia).
Does a HydraFacial hurt?
HydraFacial’s are a non-invasive procedure and no skin is punctured so you will walk away with no visual side effects. A HydraFacial doesn’t hurt at all and most people find it a relaxing and calming treatment. The Vortex Extraction nozzle rapidly circulates liquid onto the skin and this creates a highly effective vacuum that extracts dirt and oil from your pores. This feels like a slight pulling sensation on your skin which most people feel revitalised from.
The painless procedure delivers immediate results for people with all skin types, with no downtime.
Is there a recovery time after a HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial is a fast, efficient treatment that takes as little as 30 minutes. You can put on makeup and return to your normal activities immediately after the treatment as there is no downtime or recovery time.
What skin types does a HydraFacial help?
A HydraFacial medical-grade skin procedure is appropriate for all skin types -- normal, oily, sensitive and ageing skin and a professional clinician will adapt the treatment to your skin type and to focus on any concerns that you have.
It’s rare to find a facial procedure like a HydraFacial that works for any skin type, has no downtime and you can see a visible change in the health of your skin immediately.
A HydraFacial can also help with acne, acne scars and rosacea.
Why is a HydraFacial so good for our skin?
A HydraFacial targets the top layers of your skin, removing dead skin cells, unblocks pores and then hydrate, helping your skin to rejuvenate naturally. Hydration is the foundation of healthy and radiant skin but it is only effective if dead skin cells have been removed and pores have been unblocked.
Am I a good candidate for a HydraFacial?
Anybody is a good candidate for a HydraFacial treatment as it is designed for all skin types, even for the most sensitive skin. Your clinician will choose specific treatment serums and will customize the procedure for your skins needs to give you the best results.
Why should I not have a HydraFacial?
A HydraFacial treatment should not be performed if you are:
· Pregnant
· Breastfeeding
· Taking roaccutane medication
· Suffer from autoimmune disorders
· Allergic to shellfish
· Allergic to aspirin
· If you have had any other medical deep treatments in the last 2 weeks, for example, laser hair removal, laser resurfacing, fractionated RF or injectable in the treatment area
